Technical Information
ALTAPURE's patented ultrasonic technology produces a dense robust cloud (US/SMD, Ultra Small/Sub-Micron Droplets) of aerosolized droplets in a constantly replenishing vapor phase. ALTACARE, the liquid agent utilized by ALTAPURE is a carefully selected sterilant capable of deep penetration, and wide dispersion previously unattainable by existing technology.
In laboratory testing, the ALTAPURE system demonstrates unparalleled efficacy and kill time against recognized "gold standard" dry spore challenges. These extremely small droplets, and density present a fundamentally different behavior and unique efficacy. The ALTAPURE US/SMD achieves a rapid total kill within minutes leaving water vapor and a faint odor similar to vinegar which is easily removed in the final phase of the disinfection process; no detectable residue remains.
In simple terms, ALTAPURE delivers a high level disinfectant in a high-energy vapor state that is safe for people and the environment while eliminating the most virulent of biologics.
By comparison, technologies that create larger droplets tend to deposit a residue and are more prone to cause corrosion. For example, a 10-micron droplet has 1000 times the liquid of a 1-micron droplet and the resulting condensation will leave surfaces and items visibly wet. Larger droplets will diffuse slowly and "rain" out of the air directly reducing effectiveness. Gases possess excellent diffusion and penetration properties, but because of the sparce density of the gas molecules, they require high concentrations and longer process times.
Prior to ALTAPURE, there was no commercially viable method to generate robust quantities of aerosol particles less than 7-10 microns. ALTAPURE's small droplets offer the best of both worlds, imitating the diffusion and penetration capabilities of a gas while maintaining the kill power of a liquid. ALTACARE US/SMD has a gas-like diffusion and penetration physical qualities.
